I absolutely love youth sports.

 

That's why I coached and that's why I photograph. I was excited to be there for that hit or tackle; a moment that child would remember for the rest of their life. And now I'm priveleged to capture those moments with my camera.

I love the energy, the innocence and the laughter these kids bring with them. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of that perspective still visible by the time they get to high school. College and pros strive for perfection and there are lots of photographers who can capture that.

I prefer to focus on the arena that ends with a handshake and a "good game," where excitement can come from a pack of bubble gum in the dugout and where ice cream at the snack bar is all the reward they need for a game well played.
